First of all, try saying the name of this post 5x fast. It’s a tongue twister for sure!
Anyway, let’s talk about sleep. Sleep is so important to me and studies show that humans spend an average of 26 of their lifetimes sleeping! That’s so much time! So why do we spend that time not the most comfortable that we can be?
In terms of my own sleep, I probably don’t get enough of it. I’m a morning person naturally and have little-to-no problems waking up around 6am, provided that there is sunlight (rainy days in Boston are the worst!). I work long hours and by the time rehearsal gets out, I’m usually not in bed until closer to 1am. So I don’t operate on a ton of sleep.
That being said, when I fall asleep, I want to sleep well. I’m one of those crazy people who cannot fall asleep if there’s light in the room, which gets tricky when you’ve got 3 east facing windows and a boyfriend who could literally fall asleep anywhere. Because of this, I’ve always been a big fan of sleep masks, and this one absolutely takes the cake.
The Slip Silk Sleep Mask is designed by Slipsilk, which is a brand that prides itself on creating items to help with anti-aging, anti-sleep crease, anti-bed head, and a good night’s sleep! I was given this sleep mask a few weeks ago from a friend, and since then, I’ve been hooked.
Slipsilk isn’t messing around when it comes to quality. The mask is made out of 100% mulberry silk which makes it amazingly soft. It’s hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant, which means that it allows your skin to breathe. It also blocks out all light, even when sitting in a fully lit room: a huge plus in my book!
They run a little high price-wise, costing about $45 each, but after using mine nightly for the past few weeks, if you’re in the market for a sleep mask, I can’t help but recommend this one.
You can buy the mask online or in store from Sephora, Anthropologie, Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, or Bloomingdale’s
