Mulled Wine, Cheese, & All of the Wishes

November 14, 2017

This past weekend was my roommate Mackenzie’s 22nd birthday. We celebrated in our favorite way: hosting all of our friends in a cheese, wine, and snacks night! Say what you will about my lack of fun at parties, but I am a damn good party host. Mackenzie and Sopie picked up a ton of treats from Trader Joe’s while I was lucky to have been gifted some large cheese wedges from Parmigiano Reggiano! Mackenzie also threw together some mulled wine in our crockpot and we even baked a cake.

When I was 10, 22 was the age I thought I’d be when I was a ‘real adult.’ It was the age I figured I would be when I would know what I want to do with my life. Clearly, I’m not there yet, and that’s okay. It was crazy for me to sit around with people I’m so close with and realize that we’re all there. We’re all graduating from college in a semester or so and in a year from now, I won’t be living with the same people. I won’t even be living in the same city as most of these people.

We spent a lot of the evening talking and laughing. And of course, eating. The spread was a mix of fruits, breads, desserts, and finger food. Mackenzie’s mulled wine was a hit and by the end of the night, almost all of the cheese was gone.

Parmigiano Reggiano was so kind in sending me cheese for this event! They shipped it all the way from Italy, so my friends who studied in Arezzo felt lucky. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be good on its own, but clearly I was wrong! We ate it on crackers, bread, and just by itself. They’re also hosting a sweepstakes at the moment, so click here to enter to win a cheese party of your own!

Note: Parmigiano Reggiano sponsored this post, but all opinions are my own
