we never slept on a twin-sized bed until this week.
I say that as if it is an accomplishment, when really it’s just how our lives happened to be. we didn’t know each other during the time of twin-sized mattresses.
you asked me last night if we could cuddle close, force our bodies together, as we fell asleep. I agreed because you are (above all things) a romantic, and I don’t think I can ever say no to you.
I wake up before you every day. I kiss your face and chest and wrap myself around your body. I write poems like this and think about what I could make you for breakfast.
loving you this much was never part of my plan. please never let me go.
